Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

i was never married, i had a child and when the child was about 7 months i left his dad, we were both young and living at his parents house. i decided to let him stay with his dad and grandparents till i had a secure place to live. i finally do but they keep saying they have custody of him and saying i lost custody of my son because i didnt attend a parenting class issued by a judge. i searched records andnothing ever came up for anyone besides me putting a restraining order on them which didnt get passed anyways. i live in florida. legally can i just take my child whenever i want? i know they have been taking him to the doctor and all, but that should be a problem right? the child is 3 years old now.

I suggest you petition the court for custody and/or visitation.

You have been gone for some time. I hope you had some contact with the child during the three years. I suggest you follow Mr. Slater's advice - Petitoner the court for custody and child support.
