Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

If you married someone and then found out after your marriage that they were still married to someone else in a different state and they knew they were still legally married when they married you; What are my legal rights?

Since the marriage to you, this person then divorced the wife of a different state, is the present marriage in the state that you got marriage still legal?

The present marriage to you is not legal in Florida; you will have to ratify and "re-marry" to make this marriage legally recognized.

If the other party knew they were no divorced and entered into a marriage with you they have committed fraud on both you and the state of Florida since they failed to truthfully fill out their marriage license application. Depending on the exact circumstances, the other party may still be treated as your spouse (for paying equitable alimony) or may be barred from obtaining relief from the court based upon their fraudulent conduct.
