Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
I got married in 2004 and left my husband due to his infedelity that same year. I have not spoke to him since and am having trouble finding him. I want to get remarried and I believe that he has also remarried but i have never seen any divorce paper work. I have done so much searching to find this infomation and also called texas vital statistics, but no one can seem to help me. Am I divorced?

Good question! You are not divorced, unless you husband filed for divorce and he received a divorce without telling or informing you. If he did not get a divorce he could be a bigamist. My suggestion is that you hire a private investigator. Have the PI contact your husband. Have the PI ask your husband where he received the divorce. Have the PI press him for an answer by (1) if he doesn't provide the place, date and court file number for the divorce - the PI will turn him into the police for bigamy & contact his present wife to let her know of your marriage to him; (2) have the PI contact the new wife if the PI cannot get beyond the husband to inform her you need to have the date of his divorce from him.
Otherwise it will be very difficult to find a divorce, unless you think it was done in a county in which the court files are on line.
When you married this man, you obviously met his family. Call them, tell them what you want and ask them if they can help.
