Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

married twice to the same person, 2 states, one divorce

I was married to the same person in 2 different states. We got a divorce 4 years later in one state. Are we divorced or do we need to get a separate divorce in the other state as well?

It depends on the timeline. If the divorce was prior to the second marriage, then you need a dissolution of the second marriage. If the divorce was after the second marriage, then you don't need anything more. The second marriage had no effect. Once married in one state, the marriage is recognized all states. The divorce disolved whatever marriage existed.
