Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
I have been married for one year and eight months, I lost my job last Febuary and have been unemployed ever since. My wife is a registered nurse and has been working during this time, I have paid the bills during my unemplyment as she has been saving her money in case we needed it going into September when my money would run out. My wife left for her mothers at the beginning of July with her son (my step son) and then moved out on July 31st. I had an officer present during the move out. It looks as if I will be starting a new job on the 24th of this month, I would like to know if I need to file for divorce prior to starting my job so I do not have to pay her any support or does it not matter as she left me while I was unemployed. My wife makes 50k a year and left me with no job, money or a car. We have no joint accounts, we rent an apertment and have no assests.
Thank you

With such a short-term marriage, support sounds very, very unlikely. Even so, the timing of your divorce probably doesn't make much of a difference as to whether you'll pay support.
