Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Never married with two year old would like to move out of State

I plan on getting married by the end of the year and moving to New York. I now live in Florida, where my son's father also lives. I was never married to him. I have asked him if it is ok with him that I relocate and if it would be an issue because of our son. He completely objects to the idea. However, I have a job offer in New York and I would like to start my life anew. My question is if I can go ahead and make the move to New York. Will this cause me legal problems with my son's father? I have no problem with allowing him holidays and the Summer with his son. I have also told him he can come to New York and visit him if he would like to. We have never gone to court. Basically he pays my son's daycare and he sees him on the weekends on and off. But this is all a verbal agreement that we have. I need to be sure I can make the move without breaking any laws. Also, if I move and he tried to take me to court, can he take my son from me or can he make me move back to Florida? He keeps telling me he has just as much rights as I do and I believe I have more rights towards my son because I am a single mother and we were never married. Please help. Thank You.

Until legal paternity has been established he has no rights and neither does your son.
