Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
Married 23 years last child is 18 and is getting GED. Wife makes 38,000 plus bonuses. I make 45,000 no bonuses earn perdiem while in the road.
wife is asking for $400 a month plus $300 till daughter turns 19 in July of 2010. After that she still wants $400 for the next 20 years. We have no assets just bills to divide up. Does this make sense even if she works. I understand taking care of my daughter till she is 19 but will I be obligated to pay alimony

Given that your daughter is 18 and not in high school, you wouldn't owe child support, but you can pay it until she's 19, if you want. You've been married long enough that you could owe alimony, but your salaries are so close that I doubt it would be awarded based only on what you've said. Of course, I know there are a lot more facts to your cases, so you should sit down with a family lawyer and explain everything to get a more accurate answer.
