Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

was married 27 years have been divorced 4 years. I was awarded home in divorce as a settlement not to have him pay alimony nor receive any of his retirement benefits, however, loan is in husbands name property is in both our names if he files bankruptcy what happens to home.

If you signed the note, bank may want you to pay. This should have been forseen at time of divorce.

If he claims bankruptcy, you will need to attend all of the hearings for same. You can show that the house was awarded to you and it will be up to the Judge to remove you from the action.
