Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
I have been married for 27 years and have a 24 year old daughter. I have not worked in the last 13 years. My husband left the house for another woman. He doesn't give me money and has left al bills unpaid for. WE are losing the house. I do have a car that's falling apart. I cannot find unemployment.
He states he doesn't have money and that "work is slow". We're now divorcing and I am representing myself as I do not have funds for an attorney whatsoever. In addition to this, he has obtained a top notch attorney (mind you he states his fnances are low). He is self employed and I fear he can make up any numbers for him income.
Are my chances of receiving spousal support while I m able to get on my feet, to far fetched?? He threatens his attorney has made it clear I will not receive a penny.
Any help would be great as I'm representing myself.

Do not represent yourself. If he can hire an attorney, he can pay your attorney.
27 years is a marriage of long duration - don't let him bluff you. His attorney probably told him he would be paying out the >>>>>. Hire an attorney and have the attorney ask for the fees to be reimbursed from him. You have a great case. File the Petition for divorce and then file for temporary support until a hearing can be held. He needs to pay the house and other joint bills.
