Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
I was married for 13 yrs. We have two biological girls and one adopted son. When we adopted him it was through the state of Florida because the child was born cocaine positive. The mothers parental rights were terminated. The biological mother has four other children all adopted out and a new baby on the way. She has an extensive drug history amongst criminal charges and prostitution. My ex husband and I divorced in Dec 2009 and he married my adopted sons biological mother. During our divorce court hearing the judge ordered none of my children to be left home alone with this women. Is there any law or procedure I can look into to protect the welfare of my children especially my adopted son. My ex gets visitation every other weekend and on wednesdays. Can I stop this women from being present during his visitation period? Please help.

Wow, that's an interesting story. Obviously, if she is being left alone with the kids, you can probably get his visitation stopped. Otherwise, you'll have to prove that the kids are somehow being harmed by being near her when they have visitation with him. You didn't say whether the kids are being harmed, so I can't answer your question directly. It is probably a good idea to speak with a lawyer about your situation.
