A subpoena duces tecum is a subpoena which requires someone to produce something, usually documents, to the another party in a lawsuit. A motion to strike and to quash is a request, made by the person to whom the subpoena was directed, to the Court; and it asks that the subpoena not be enforced. A protective order is an order from the Court allowing a party to whom a subpoena is directed, to ignore certain requests made in a subpoena, or to direct that certain things may not be requested. Without knowing the particulars of your case, that's about as clear an explanation as I can give you.
