Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

medical insurance FL/WI

My ex husband in Wisconsin is to carry the medical ins. on our daughter. My daughter, now 16, and I have lived in Florida for five years. My question is this: Isn't he required to have insurance coverage that my daughter can actually use in Florida? And how would I go about enforcing this? I have taken out my own policy on her due to his being in contempt (our daughter was dropped from the insurance company he had in December of 07--the coverage covered emergency care only. Since then he has lost another job and has a new one) Is there a way I can get him to pay half? At least she can get regular check ups on my insurance. Thank you.

Depending on where the divorce/custody was decided, there may be a different procedure. However, generally speaking, you need to petition the court for relief. You should contact an attorney to discuss this matter.
