Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
Mentally Challenged / Pregnancy
I have a 24 year old daughter that had an accident that resulted in a Tramautic Brain Injury. She was pregnant at the time. She has had custody of the baby taken from her and given to us (maternal parents). Her rights are not terminated as this is no fault of her own and babys father was going to try and take custody. She is diagnosed with chemical bi-polar and is found to be 11th grade education level, but emotionally about 12 years old. Very niave, easily manuplated. She recently has engaged in an unhealthy relationship with a 53 yr old man, has contracted a STD, and they have decided to have a baby. They live in a 1 room efficiency and still have the STD. He also has ten other children from who knows how many women but none in his custody. I am certain this baby will become another property of the state. (FL) Is there any thing that can be done to save this tragedy from happening?

The only thing you can do is try to have your daughter declared incapacitated and she herself put in your custody. Contact our office if you need assistance in the Miami area.
