mexican annulment valid?

My grandson was married 6 weeks ago, but the ''wife'' has left and there is no reconciliation. He has been told that a annulment aquired through Mexico is totally valid in the US. (Guaranteed) I would like to verify that this is true before he proceeds. No Children, no property aquired since ''self solemnized'' ceremony in Colorado. Thanks for info.
