Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

In the middle of legal proceedings for my divorce and after paying almost $2,000 in legal fees (which includes $850 to travel 300 miles for an emergency hearing), my lawyer is asking me to sign a motion to withdraw. He wants to withdraw because I have been late in submitting documents. Do I have to sign this motion? What if I refuse? Will he be forced to go to court to file? Thanks!

No one can make you sign the motion. However, the attorney can ask the judge to grant the withdrawal. Whether or not the judge approves it is something that I cannot answer. So, yes the attorney may/may not have to continue representing you.
