Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

modification

my husband is asking for modification because he is out of a job since november 2007, we went to down town directly to court and file the documents our self. his ex got a lawyer, and said that she denies the request, and she wants to force us to hire a lawyer and want us to sign a document for us to pay all her fees, we do not want to do that , we don't have money. my question is what happend if we do not give all the documents that her lawyer is asking for? i know they are going to file for contemp can we still refuse. we want to fight and make a judge decide. with out putting a lawyer.

You probably are required to provide all the documents to her lawyer. You can check Family Law Rule 12.285 for a general list of the documents you must provide. It's possible you may have to provide more documents than those listed in the rule. Additionally, you'll have to provide a financial affidavit.

Since your husband isn't working, it isn't very likely you'll have to pay her lawyer, but you should strongly consider getting one of your own.
