Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

i am the mother of a 2 year old boy. when he was born i gave him his fathers whole name. He is a JR. his father was in prison so he didnt sign the birth cert. i filed for child support and he said he wanted a paternity test. it was his baby. well i didnt go to court to hear the results or have his name put on the birth certificate. i am now in a relationship and my boyfriend wants to change my sons last name to his. how would i go about doing this in florida? is it possible? thank you

You'd have to file a petition for name change, but you'll have to have the permission of the biological father before it can be granted.
