Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
Moving internationally with a child and how to get court's permission
I have a one year old daughter with an ex-fiance. He has been part of her life till now. I would like to eventually move to another country to start a new life with better job opportunity and also to start a life with someone else. We have plans to get married in the near future. The ex is strongly opposing the move. I do not want to deny him any visitation and I am willing to work on him in regards to custody arrangement, but he doesn't want to agree on anything. What is Florida's take on international move with a child and what steps can I take to make sure that I can move legally and rightfully with my baby? He has said that he would allow us to leave if I would waive my right to child support, however all this was verbal. Do I have the burden of proof that it's in the best interest of the child. Would I have a better chance if I did marry my current partner?
