Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

I have had notarized temporary custody of my friends child since he was 3 months old. He is now 3 1/2 years old and she is now wanting to give me full custody. She was quite promiscuous and never knew who the father was. We reside in Florida and I can only find information and forms for step-parent or non-custodial parent. I need direction on where to find the forms or do I need to just go to the courthouse? Thank you!

Unfortunately there are no online forms on flcourts for non step parent adoptions. That being said you will have to file a regular adoption. The Mother can file consent forms which will help to facilitate the process. A uncontested adoption can be pretty simple process you may be able to get the forms from Family Court Services at your local courthouse. Another option is to seek pro se assistance from a local attorney.
