Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
Objection to Social Security Number
Can an objection be raised when a social security number is elicited through discovery devices? Naturally, a social can be found on most documentation, i.e., tax and medical related, that is obtained through document production, but as a technical matter, can a requestee object to giving out the social freely?

Re: Objection to Social Security Number
The Patriot Act--believe it or not--protects you from having to reveal you social security number in discovery. Of course, it's probably not worth your time and trouble to fight out that battle in court, but you have the right to give just the last four digits or black out all but the last four digits on any document you provide.
