Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

right as a parent

If something was to happen to my sons mother/ my ex, I've been told that the state of florida wouldn't reconize that I'm the father because we were never married, even though I'm on the birth certif.. Is this true and if so what needs to be done?

It's not true. If you are the legal father, you are automatically a legal guardian.
