Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
Parental neglect
I'm not sure if the heading is correct for my questions, but here goes. My mother has been in several different unstable relationships in her life including the one with my brother and I (were 25 and 27). The most recent began only 2 months ago, with a man from another country through a meeting on the internet. They will be married this spring, once her divorce from her current marriage (#2) is final. I have only been in contact with her a few times since this new relationship has begun.
The problem is, is that since I have stated my stance on this relationship, she has tried to slander me to several of my relatives. She has tried to characterize me as severely mentally handicapped. My question is, is there any recourse that I can take towards costs of psychiatry sessions? I am willing to try to see if I am the one with the problem by speaking to a professional. Also, I'd like to know if there is any information on whether a restraining order for me, my husband, my future children is an option to protect us from her irrational behavior?

Re: Parental neglect
You may need to seek legal relief from her actions in the court system. I would need more information to answer your other concerns.
