paternity test

my ex is now asking for a paternity test. we have 4 year old daughter, he has not been supporting her at all, and I never filed because I wanted to raise her on my own. now he sent me cour papers and wants a perternity test. can I deny his request and Just say that the child is not his so he can go away

I am somewhat confused by "and I never filed" phrase. If you went after him for child support or if you have received some public assistance, the State is going to go after him, even if you don't. He is the legal father, even though DNA may show he is not the biological father.

No. Your daughter has a right to a father, and he has a right to prove he is the father (or not) through a DNA test.
