Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
Paternity Testing situation
First, let me explain, I am active duty navy and I am an E5, I have an E2 that works for me, makes very little money and this question is basically on behalf of him. He is originally from Florida and has a child living with its mother there. He has had his wages garnished and is not even 100% sure that the child belongs to him. Is there any agency that offers free paternity testing? Anyone I could refer him to that may know? In this stressful situation, he has had a sharp tongue towards senior officials and is now in some trouble because of it, his pay has been cut in half, which wasn't very much to begin with. Remember that garnishment? Yes, that's still coming out, also. As I previously stated, he can't afford to pay the prices that I have helped him research. Any information you could give me in order to pass along to him, would be greatly appreciated, and I'm sure it would be a ton of help. Thank you very much for your time and understanding of this situation.

Re: Paternity Testing situation
If the judgement of paternity is more than 6 months old he's not going to get the court to overturn it for a paternity test. He had the opportunity to do that then. the court wants permenancy for FL kids. There are a ton of men out there paying for kids that are not theirs. He can always get a modification of the Child support based upon his income, he can call the FL department of revenue for the forms and do it himself. He will have to come here for 1 hearing. He should fill in the forms then call and bug the heck out of them. Daily. He'll get the support reduced if that is warranted back to the date of filing so he needs to hurry up!
