Paying back child support before court date

Almost 2 years ago, my ex was ordered to pay child support. He didn't. I filed a motion for contempt, and he hired a lawyer. We have a court date set for Dec 21st. His wife called and offered to pay it all off before the court date. I'm suspicious of this, and wanted to see if there might be any repercussions for accepting this. Also, shouldn't his lawyer have contacted me with the offer, not her?

Your ex owes you child support and his wife is offering to pay all of it now, so there's no reason for the hearing? i don't see the problem. Tell your attorney about the offer.
