Florida is an equitable distribution state (not a community property state). Further more the law regarding distributions is changing effective October 1.

Best bet go to a family law attorney and discuss your options. There are some tricky matters with regard to pensions.

Best to consult with a Divorce/Family Law attorney in your area to help you out. There are too many variables to properly address your needs in the forum.

Lawguru's Attorney Search can assist you in finding someone near your home to help you out. You can also call the Florida Bar attorney referral service or the local bar association in your city.
