Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
Phone calls
My agreement says my ex is to have liberal communication with my two children now 16 and 13. They call and or answer two to three times a week. He starts sending me emails if he misses one day telling me to let them amswer their phones. I live in another state with Fl court permission. My ex recently was awarded make up visitation after he lied on the stand about giving permission for my kids to come down laate in July so my son could play Allstar baseball. I had his emails giving permission. The judge didn't see it that way. The judge told me she would bring the children back to FL. if I didn't honor the visitation. Of course I will. Now my ex is threatening to bring them back because of phone calls. Would a judge do that? What is liberal communication? Do I have to force them to call everyday? They are teenagers and on their own sometimes. I am really stressed out that they will be taken back to Fl. We now live inM.A. and they have established themselves after 4 years. This judge is the same that gave us permission to move. Can someone help me with this very stressful situation?

Re: Phone calls
You dont need to be stressed. Liberal communication is up for interpretation by the Judge. It sounds like you are giving liberal communication. The Judge wants to do whats in the best interest for the children, but judges also understand that you only have so much control over kids and their activities once they get to 15,16, and 17. After that they are on their own. Dont let the ex stress you. This does not sound like a situation where the Judge will make you come back.
