You can prepare a Power of Attorney yourself, but if there are any errors the entire document will be worthless. Generally, even if properly prepared, it will only be good in Florida.

I would strongly suggest that you have a "real live attorney" (rather than a dead one) prepare this instrument for you. This will avoid any errors and give you piece of mind while dad is in Costa Rica.
