premarriage discloser agreement

my son claims he does not need a prenuptial agreemt but instead he and his fiance are getting a discloser agreement. Is there such an agreement?

You probably mean a "disclosure statement," which is often signed at the same time as a prenuptial agreement. A disclosure is a statement where each person tells the other about all the assets and debts they have before they get married.

The point of the disclosure is to make sure nothing is left out of the prenuptial agreement, to make sure no assets are hidden or concealed from the other person when they sign the prenuptial. Usually you wouldn't sign one without the other. I don't know why you'd sign the disclosure without signing the prenuptial.

Florida law has recently changed making the disclosure almost mandatory before a prenuptial is signed.
