Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Procedure to postpone a final judgement of custody.

I am my son's POA while he is deployed. His wife filed for divorce and custody of their 1 child prior to deployment. He is in agreement with the divorce, but does not agree with the custody issues. He does not want any finalization of custody done until he returns sometime in 2005. What do I need to file with the court for him to make sure she does not get full custody while he is away?

A number of new laws were recently passed in the State of Florida to benefit persons serving in the armed forces as a result of the recent deployment. Certain deferrals of legal actions are now set forth under Florida law.

I suggest you meet with a family law attorney to review this matter and determine whether your son is protected under the law.
