Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

I am currently in the process of getting a divorce; my husband and I signed a promissory note for the house we are currently in. We have already agreed that I will keep the house but he is trying to get me to pay him half of what has been paid (~50,000 to him) my question is: can he legally force that? And what options do I have, because I cannot afford to pay him that much.

If he states that you can keep the house, then get the house appraised at today's value. If the judge decides he is entitled to any equity in the house, a value will be established. You don't state how long you have owed the house but you need to know that you each benefited from the purchase of the home and he is only entitled to equity. At today's rate, there may not be any equity and therefore no entitlement to him.
