Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

I'm currently in the process of getting a divorce from an illegal immigrant we were married in South Carolina. I'm being told that only the carolina's recognize my marriage because he is here illegally without proper identification. I'm not sure how to go about my next step if I'm able to anul my marriage. I also have a court date coming up because he refuses to file his financial information. He didn't work when we were married for 8 months but worked prior with incorrect documents is this something that I can get into an issue with since it was prior to us being married I didn't think it would affect me.

Though your marital status may affect his immigration status, his immigartion status doesn't affect your marital status. Your marriage is not invalid just because he is an illegal alien. Divorce court doesn't care what his immigration status is, and you can't get an annulment just because he was illegal when you got married. You'll have to get a divorce, not an annulment, unless you have another reason for annulment (were one of you married at the time you got married, is he your brother, did you forget to get a marriage license, etc.).

You are certainly entitled to the financial information, so make sure to ask the judge to hold him in contempt.
