Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

According to the public records my lawyer filed for a Notice of Appearance after 1 year of representation. Is my lawyer allowed to do that? I have been with my lawyer for a year already and have not even been through any type of hearing for child support or divorce. Does it take this long just to go to hearing?

An attorney will generally file a Notice of Appearance as soon as he begins representing you. Have any other documents been filed in your case? He may have forgotten to file it a year ago and just did it recently to make sure that it was in the court file.
