Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
I was put out of work 2 months prior to my divorce being final. I produced my child support obligation, and my medical letters from my doctors to the local DOR, and they wrote a letter stating that because I was unable to work there were no monies to collect. I put a
Modification of Child support request in on Jan. 08, which to date has not been heard by the court. My ex has applied for child support through the state, and they found the same a motion was drafted for the judge to sign as to me being in contempt which he signed though my modification has yet to be heard, and now DOR sent a letter that I am in arrears and they want my driver's license. I put in my contest to it and there is a hearing in 2 weeks. I have spoken to DOR reps and they said until i am put back to work, i should not be in any arrears, but they never gave me any statute number, or any info to referrence when I go to court. I have the letters from the doctors, but I feel that won't be enough. Can you help me find the informaton that I need? I am pretty much home bound because of my illness but do drive to my doctors appointments. I cannot afford any legal help so I need yours. Thank you in advance, Karen

You need to get a hearing on your motion. Just sending in the motion does not do anything. Call and schedule a hearing with the judge.
Did you schedule a hearing on the Motion. If not, get going and request a hearing and have your ex served with it.
