Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Question about DCF case

I have an arraignment hearing coming up and at that point my attorney will be appointed to me. My children were removed b/c of alleged abuse, placed w/ my grandmother and I was granted supervised visits.

I did discipline my son, but did not abuse him as DCF is saying. I have no criminal record, no history w/ DCF, or any of that.

My question is I am pregnant, when I have this baby, will they take my newborn as well? What can I do to prevent them from taking my newborn?

Re: Question about DCF case

They could. The best way to insure that they don't is probably to follow through with their case plan. You will need to talk to your attorney, but DCF's "goal" is reunification. They may have drug/alcohol classes, or parenting classes for you to attend, to get your family back together.

I wish you luck.
