Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

I just have a few questions actually....My fiance is considering signing over his rights to a child he has, how does he go about doing that??? And is it true that If he does he will only have to pay the arrears of that child?? Please help me and him figure all this out.

Thank you

Ali

As long as the mother's new husband is willing to adopt (oops! there's a catch), then your fiance can sign over his rights and he only owes the back support.

What's that you say? The mother's husband won't adopt or the mother isn't married? Well, guess what, children aren't something you can just "sign over" like a car title. Children deserve to have fathers, even when the father doesn't want to be involved and even when the mother doesn't want the father involved.

And why would you want to marry a guy who would sign over the rights to his own child?
