Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
Quit claim deed
I just got divorced and got the marital house. My former spouse had to sign a quitclaim deed to me. All that was done while the divorce was ongoing and we were still married and in the process of the divorce. I am now refinancing the house and the bank is stating that because the quitclaim stated my status as a ''married woman'', it is not good. Should the quitclaim be redone to state that I am a ''single'' woman? The bank also got a copy of the settlement and the divorce decree.
Please advise.
Thank you.
