Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Real Estate

I purchased my home in FL in 2004.

At that time, I was legally separated from my spouse in VA. Because FL does not recognize ''legal separation'', when I closed on my home, the deed lists me as ''a married woman''. His name is not on the deed, the title insurance, or the mortgage. The closing was accomplished with a POA--he was not present, and his signature is not on any of the documents. My divorce was filed in VA and was final in Dec 2005. Will he have to sign or have rights to any of the profits if I sell?

Re: Real Estate

If I understand correctly, you were already separated when you bought a home by yourself and for yourself here in Florida. If that is the case, the home is entirely yours (unless you agreed otherwise in your divorce settlement).
