Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

After recently getting divorced in the state of Florida, it is my understanding that my alimony can be terminated if I live with someone. At the present time, I do not plan to remarry, however, a friend has lost their job and may need somewhere to stay. They are of the opposite sex, and have a child. I do not want to give my ex any reason to question this relationship because I can not manage without my alimony. Is there a way I can help this friend, if I have an apartment on my property and am not charging them rent, or an in-law suite? If it is not a seperate building is this considered living with someone if they are not paying anything financially? or staying in a part of the house which can be locked from the rest of the house?

Thank you

Hello. Your alimony doesn't automatically terminate just because you live with someone. You need to carefully read your final judgment and any discussion within the document regarding alimony. That will be the only way you can determine whether and under what conditions your alimony would terminate upon cohabitation.
