Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Can I refuse visitation of my child if I feel his dad is putting him in danger? My ex husband is an alcoholic and my son says he drinks and drves with him all the time but this time when he came home from his house he told me his dad and him went to a party at night and was drinking and when they left his dad had him sit in his lap and steer the truck down the highway to get home that night. My son is 7 yrs old. He goes over there again this weekend. I am so scared. What do I do? Can I refuse to send him?

Do what you need to do to protect your child. However, without properly doing things through the court, you risk getting sanctioned, and being potentially subject to contempt of the Court. An Emergency Motion needs to be immediately pursued, along with a Supplemental Petition to Modify Parental Responsibility and Time-Sharing. Retain an experienced local family lawyer asap.
