Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Relief Hearing

I am temporarily living with my parents due to a restraining order and a pending divorce. My wife has some bills and other expenses to maintain the household and makes roughly $15 an hour. I earn $9 an hour until I can find more gainful employment. She also has a $30,000 inheritance. she has an attorney and her attourney has file a motion for temporary relief. what is this? I am assuming she is looking for some of what little money I have. (this would also pretty much completelly eliminate my chances of hiring attorney myself). what if anything can I do?

Re: Relief Hearing

Temporary relief is a request for temporary support until the court makes a final judgment; it is based on the need for support of the spouse and any children, and is based on the income and expenses of the parties. You don't indicate whether child support is involved. Her inheritance is not marital property so it is not relevant unless it is extremely large relative to her need for support. You are advised to consult with a local attorney re options and strategy.
