Remarriage waiting period

Is there a waiting period after you divorce that you must wait until you can remarried? Interested in Florida and Maine laws.

There is no waiting period after a divorce in Florida. I have actually had one client go directly from the courtroom from his divorce to the clerk's office where his bride to be was waiting for the marriage ceremony.

Florida does have a waiting period, however, from the day the marriage is applied for until the day you can be married. The time period can be shortened by taking a recommended class.
