Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

I rencently moved from Nevada to Florida ( 4 months ago) My boyfriend, the father of my 2 children is physically and mentally abusive. During an altercation over a week ago he told me to get out and would not let me take the children. I do not know anyone in Florida, so I called a friend in Nevada who got me a flight back to Nevada. I called him and he will not release my children to me. What can I do to get them back?

YOu left your children with a physically and mentally abusive person! why didn' t you call the police - he has no rights if you are not married. Of course, by now he may have if he has been in Florida for six months, established a residency requirement and YOU abandoned your children.
