I reside in new york . 17 years ago I dated a woman from tennessee and she got pregnant and gave birth to a baby boy. a year later i found out about it and have been paying child support since birth (including the arrears). several years later I have recieved the news that since my biological child was born the mother had gotten married at the same time and he had adopted my child without my knowledge.
is this legal?

If your child was adopted then you need to have the papers to prove same and submit to the child support division so that you will not be penalized for child support. Next find you an attorney to file a fraudulent action against them to gain back the support you paid when you were not the responsible party.
