Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

response to form 12.905

How do I file a response to a

Supplemental Petition to modify

parenting plan? I disagree with what

the petition is requesting and would

rather keep the parenting plan the

way it is.

Hire a lawyer. Don't mess with custody or timeshare on your own. You could severely wreck the kids' lives.

For example, if your ex has filed on his or her own, he or she may have forgetten the words "substantial change in circumstances," which makes the petition invalid. If you just file an answer, you might miss that little technicality--or one of many others--and lose defenses, possibly costing you custody or time with the kids.
