Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

responsibility for debts

my husband and i separated in June of 1999. we each own our own separate homes, cars, etc. We are civil to one another but do not speak often so I have no idea of his overall financial situation other than he is supposedly facing imminent foreclosure on his residence (formerly ours - I signed a quit claim deed when I left and it is now listed on the county rolls as his alone). If the foreclosure goes through, if he dies, if he absconds leaving any other debts I know nothing about, am I responsible?

If you were a signatory on the mortgage, you may be held responsible for any deficit if the property is foreclosed and there is not enough received at the foreclosure sale to cover the balance due on the mortgage together with all arrearages, court costs, and attorney fees. You are not responsible for any other debts unless you signed to be obligated for them.
