Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
I just got a restraining order on my ex-boyfriend for beating me up. Now I have found out that I am pregnant with his baby. I have decided to keep the baby but I want child support from him. Do I have to tell him now that I am pregnant to get child support from him when the baby comes?

Assuming the restraining order is in place and there is a no contact order between the two of you, you may need to contact him through an attorney if you want him to know that you are pregnant with his child. Otherwise, when the baby is born, you can request child support through the normal route of Child Support Enforcement.
If you want support now, you need to do so. When you file for support, he will know, of course. You can wait till the baby is born if you wish.
