Restraining order retaliation

My husband is threatening to call DCF on me if I ask for a restraining order against him. I know there is nothing wrong with my home, but I've heard horror stories when they get involved. Will DCF realize it is retaliation and ignore his call or will they open an investigation against me?

By law, they must investigate all complaints. How much they investigate--beyond a one time visit, is another story.

If you feel you are at risk of domestic violence at the hands of your husband (and that's physical harm, not mental abuse), you should seek an injunction.
