Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

How soon can I reunify w/my children?

My children were removed from my home based on alleged abuse (on my older child). Right before arraignment, I met with my case worker and she outlined what case plan I will have. She said it was definite that I will have to take parenting, Anger mgmt, a psychological, and a psychosocial (which I'd done).

I told her okay, to go ahead and refer me. She said she would by the end of the week. Long story short, she has not been doing her job. She had not referred me like she said and after numerous calls to her that went unanswered and not returned, I had to find both classes on my own, one of which I have to pay for. I am still waiting to hear about the psychological eval. My next court date (mediation) is the 3rd week in Jan and I will have completed my anger management, but my parenting will continue until Feb b/c it is 10 weeks. I have also done a psychosocial, and there were no drugs/alcohol involved, so that is not an issue. I let my court appt. attorney know that I had started my classes and she said that was good. My question is, since I have been doing this on my own, and will have completed at least two tasks, is there any chance my kids can be returned to me while I complete the rest of the services?

You really need to go to your attorney for the answer to that question. Your attorney works with the same judges, case managers, and investigators every day of the week. I do know that sometimes people do have their children while going through their case plan. But, that depends on a lot of factors that only someone who has all the information about your case can answer.
