Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

revoking consent and termination of parental rights

I am married and during the pregnancy decided to to adoption because I was scared. I had the adoption attorney of the adoptive parents working with me but not representing me. when I signed the consent forms i was at the hospital and had just been discharged. it wasnt even 24 hours after i had given birth. the adoptive parents had bought me gifts and a laptop computer and I felt if i didnt sign that i would have to pay it all back when i dont have the money even though i know that dosent obligate me to sign. the attorney also put in my consent forms that i have never been married and i am currently married. she said she dosent know how that fell in there and she crossed it out on the copy that went to the birth father. he hasnt given consent but they want to try to terminate his parental rights for abandonment for not helping me financially during the pregnancy. i wrote a letter revoking my consent to the attorney/ adoption entity a week after he was born. is there anything i can do or any way i can prove i was under duress? I dont even know what duress is. i wasnt explained anything. i was just told to sign. but i want my baby back. please help me.

Re: revoking consent and termination of parental rights

If your husband opposes the adopotion or if you can prove fraud or duress in signing the consent, you may be able to prevent it. Good luck.
